The aim of the Piatti Tennis Center is the complete preparation of professional athletes and young talents. Our approach is a professional tennis career. The Center also promotes partnerships with Partner Clubs.  Our head coach is Riccardo Piatti.

The Center

The tennis center of Bordighera is the key point of activity and the meeting place of various Partner Clubs in Italy and around the world.

Lo staff includes coaches, athletic and mental trainers, physiotherapists, nutritionists and chiropractors. The new sports center will bring the best Italian and international athletes to the Liguria town. Above all it is open 365 days a year

The sports centre – Bordighera Tennis Center

It comprises four hard surface courts, two of which covered with a fixed structure. To clarify we have approximately 10 staff working on-site continuously.

In addition to these figures there are around 30 athletes and external coaches who carry out daily activities. A gym, sauna, recovery pool, room for video analysis and technical sessions, an infirmary, administration office, reception desk and hall. That is complete the facilities available for athletes and coaches.

Mission

1 – complete preparation of tennis professionals for tournaments on the ATP/WTA circuit and training of young athletes who take part in ITF Junior and Tennis Europe international circuit competitions.

2 – providing support to the instructors of the Partner Clubs to enable their young athletes to be trained with the most up-to-date professional techniques.
While staying at the Piatti Tennis Center in Bordighera, work will be performed with the athletes and coaches to define a program to undertake in the various peripheral clubs.

Q Riccardo Piatti

Born in Como in 1958, he became an instructor in 1982, after attending the National School of Tennis Instructors.
He was manager and captain of the U16 team of the Italian Tennis Federation between 1984 and 1988.

In 1988, he decided to become a freelance and train several of the most promising Italian tennis players, such as Renzo Furlan with best ranking n. 19 in 1996, Cristiano Caratti, n. 26 ATP ranking in 1991, Omar Camporese n. 25 ATP ranking and Cristian Brandi n. 50 in the doubles in 2000.
Since 1990, Riccardo Piatti has trained Ivan Ljubicic, who under his guidance, has reached n. 3 best ranking, won 10 ATP tournaments (including the Masters 1000 of Indian Wells - USA), won the Bronze medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004, together with Mario Ancic and won the Davis Cup with Croatia in 2006.

The Italian coach has also worked with national players Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini. He worked with the former world n.1 Serbian Novak Djokovic for a year. In 2013, he trained the Frenchman Richard Gasquet who reached his best ATP ranking in that season of n.9, managing to qualify for the London Masters.

From 2013 to 2017 Coach Piatti was training the Canadian player Milos Raonic who has played in a Wimbledon final, reached best ATP ranking n.3 and took part in the London Masters, the tournament reserved for the eight best players in the world.
Currently he is training the young Croatian talent Borna Coric

Since 2008 Coach Piatti has decided to put his great experience at the service of young tennis talents and their coaches, organising workshops in Italy and Europe and working as a consultant at numerous Tennis Clubs.

Q Massimo Sartori

• Born on 16 March 1967.
• He has two daughters: Giulia born on 12 December 1997 and Federica, born on 16 July 2000.
• ITF instructor since 1993.
• From January 1994 to June 1995 he worked at TC Lonigo and at Altavilla Vicentina.
• From June 1995 to December 2010 he lived and worked at Caldaro.
• In 1995, his pupil Thomas Holzer won the "Porro-Lambertenghi Cup, Italian U12 championship.
• In1998, he won the Italian U14 team title with Andreas Seppi, Mirko Balestro and Marco Lionetti.
• In 2002, he was captain of the Italian Team in the European Cup and won the title with Andreas Seppi, Potito Starace and the late Federico Luzzi.
• He started to coach Andreas Seppi in Caldaro from June 1995, first as an instructor and trainer, then as a coach.

Q Cristian Brandi

• Born in Italy in 1970, he has worked with Riccardo Piatti since he was 13.
• In 2000, he reached 50th place on the ATP doubles ranking and played for the Italian team in the Davis Cup and at the Olympics.
• He has worked as coach in the Italian Tennis Federation coaching Trevisan and Cecchinato, who reached 82nd place on the ATP rankings.
• He is currently working with Delic and Napolitano and trains young athletes.

Q Dalibor Sirola

• Born in April 1972.
• Graduated in 1999 at the Department of Sports Science in Zagreb.
• FMS certified performance improvement expert.
• Athletic trainer with 15 years of experience in the fitness industry.
• In 2003, he founded «Scipion» Sport and Rehabilitation Centre in Rijeka, where he trains various professional Croatian athletes from different sports as football, alpine skiing, basketball, handball, MMA and tennis.
• From 2009 he started working with Ivan Ljubicic and Riccardo Piatti and in 2011 he became an athletic trainer for the Piatti Tennis Team.
• He has worked with Andreas Seppi and Massimo Sartori since 2011.
• From 2013 to 2017, worked with the Canadian tennis player Milos Raonic.
• He is currently following the young Croatian tennis player Borna Coric.

• From 1989 to 1994 he was Technical Director of Circolo le Pleiadi where he works with Riccardo Piatti and Prof. Pino Carnovale
• From 1994 to 1997 he has directed the Van Der Meer World Class Program in Marlengo(BZ).
• From 1997 to 2013 he was Technical Director of the TC Monviso of Grugliasco(TO)
• From 2013 to 2018 he has directed the Top School del Circolo della Stampa Sporting di Torino
• He was supervisor of many international conferences and symposiums such as Cancun(Mexico), Hilton Head Island(USA)
• In 2018 he received the acknowledgment of “Pro of the Year” during the international symposium of Hilton Head Island (USA)
• He published the book “Munchin Tennis” and the tutorial DVD “Servizio a 360°” together with Riccardo Piatti, Ivan Ljubicic and Danilo Pizzorno
• Attendance in drawing up of the “Manuale Didattico del Perfezionamentoper l’area organizzativa
