The Bruguera Tennis Academy offers the following programs:
– Academy strives to develop elite tennis players through a bespoke annual programme that adapts to the needs of each young person and runs the length of the academic year, from September to June.
One of the annual programme’s main objectives is to combine intensive competition-based training geared towards helping each player reach their highest level of performance with a high-quality education programme in English and Spanish that follows Spain’s official curriculum for secondary and upper-secondary studies.
The tennis and fitness programme varies depending on the needs and objectives of each player. Technical adjustment, tactical development and tournament participation are the cornerstones of what we do.
– The Bruguera Tennis Academy offers weekly high-performance programmes throughout the year for players of all levels and ages. These programmes adopt a bespoke approach that takes into account the needs of each player, who have the freedom to choose the duration and dates of their time at the Academy.
Each player’s individual work plan takes into consideration the athlete’s needs. Targets are set in accordance with the player’s personal goals, individual characteristics and length of visit. Players will train alongside the annual programme students.
Courses for adults.
– The Bruguera Tennis Academy has an intensive programme for adults that gives them the opportunity to use our facilities and take part in training sessions adapted to all levels, with weekly courses which involve either individual or group training sessions.The aim of the weekly courses for adults is for participants to enjoy tennis and improve their level. The courses we keep on our clay courts, amid beautiful surroundings with views of Barcelona. You will have the chance to train alongside both junior and professional players and benefit from many aspects of the famous Bruguera Method. The intensive tennis programme for adults is tailor-made to their needs and offers the possibility of individual or group sessions:
Courses for coaches.
– The Bruguera Tennis Academy also specialises in training coaches with the famous Bruguera Method, developed by Lluís Bruguera in his more than 35 years of experience as a professional coach. The course runs from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 1 pm and 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
The course, 70% of which takes place on-court and 30% in the classroom, combines theoretical and practical approaches and imparts ideas that could prove decisive in a coach’s professional career. According to the course, the main aspects of a tennis player are: technique, tactics, fitness and mental toughness. In terms of technique, the course uses the Bruguera Method to teach specific exercises aimed at improving technique, fitness, numerous training concepts, footwork and mobility.
On a tactical front, participants work on planning and implementing target-based training sessions and on forging individual styles of play. The course also looks at exercises, ways of analysing and correcting mistakes, physical therapy and injury prevention. In the area of psychology, participants learn about developing intuitive intelligence and automation mechanisms. The coaches are also introduce to the use of video software to analyse technique and tactics.
